As elegantly stated in the header, this blog is about gay porn and otome gaming.

It used to be made up of two writers, Sandeian, and me, domshiki, but Sandeian has been on an indefinite hiatus for a couple years now so y’all stuck with my horseshit writing now.

I am your average pervert gamer who above anything else, enjoys a good story and something that can rip at my dusty heartstrings and make me cry like I just exited my mama’s womb.  Obviously then, I could not resist playing Key’s visual novels and that became the springboard for my entry into otome gaming.   TGS1 was the first real otome game I played but what really sold me was Hiiro no Kakera so I’ll always have a soft spot for it.

My absolute favourite visual novel is Sweet Pool.  The premise is fucking disgusting (like wtf highschool boys shitting meat monsters who the fuck wrote this shit) but as a Nitro+chiral fan, ofc I had to brave the bloody meat waters and play it right?  I have yet to find another game that made me ewroflwtfbbq as hard as it left me feeling completely shattered.  The guro aspect made me shit bricks as I laughed at the sheer ridiculousness of it all but somehow, the game made me look past it and just punched me in the gut over and over again as I played through everything and got nothing except tears and tragedy.  A highly unconventional game not only because of menstruating men but because there are no good ends and romantic love wasn’t the focus. Obviously not something I’d recommend to most people and not something I’d put up on my eharmony profile lolol.  A more SFW series I’m currently into right now is Hana Awase.  Plenty of drama, horny teenaged boys and confusion goin on in this one.

As for other games, I’m a filthy casual and haven’t played much.  My current favourite is the Mass Effect series – the lore, world and characters are amazing and despite the shitty ending, I was still crushed for days when I finished it.  Other games I pursue religiously are Rune Factory, Ace Attorney and Pokemon.  I’m also a terrible League player and spend most of my time feeding and doing stupid shit like adc Morgana or support Corki.

Outside of gaming, I read a fair bit of manga (not so much anime anymore) and I love seinen, especially series like Berserk, Shutoheru and Black Lagoon. I’m a sucker for tits, violence, tragedy and fantasy settings – even better if there’s some sort of war and history thrown in.  Surprisingly, I can read and have recently got into fantasy books so I welcome any recommendations, having read only the Stormlight Archive, GoT, Kingkiller Chronicles and part of Malazan Book of the Fallen.

…alright fine I’ll confess: my guilty pleasure is trashy shoujo manga.

As stated above, there used to be another writer here. Since she left, I’ve been holding down the fort by myself and for now, the future of this blog is unclear: I myself, have considered quitting many times as my shitty time management and university life make it hard for me to finish an entire game and then do a writeup on a regular basis.  I used to be able to shit out a post at least once a month but as of late, it’s been once a year or less.  It also seems that most otome games are now out on the PSVITA and I currently don’t have any intention of buying one.  In any case, I do wish to keep writing and will do my halfhearted best to continue butchering otome games for now.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy your stay :D

Ok I lied there’s more.  ANY COMMENTS ASKING FOR DOWNLOADS OR ANYTHING TO DO WITH PIRATED GAMES WILL BE DELETED. This is not a dl site and I don’t want this blog to get flooded with “DL LINKS PLAWKS PATCH MAKE TORRENT FOR MEH PLZ” so just buy the game *coughorgoogleforpiratedgamescough*

And additionally, NO I do not do translations and I am not going to release patches. My Japanese is too atrocious for that sort of thing and I am going to leave it to the dedicated and highly competent translating groups out there already.

You finally did an “About Us”. Congratulations.

[Has just paused Bungaku Shoujo between vol. 2 and 3 to read Kara no Kyoukai]
Domshiki, you are forcing the English language to commit suicide due to abuse. I suppose that you do the same to Chinese. Shame on you. Especially since you’re a chantard.

Wait, what am I doing commenting on this when I have 1.5 days to complete 8 homework tasks?

    • domshiki Says:

*RAAAAAGE* i want moar bungaku shoujo. the mystery is pretty rubbish but it still pulls u in. too bad konoha totally pisses the shit outta me. hows kara no kyoukai? wish i cud get lite novels ere but they all shit pricey and most on the net are simplified and i ain’t too good with that.

yeah i kno but i am trying to curb my swearing prob…ish. im not a chantard =.=” i go on less than once a week yo.

lol ur superbitch genius wendy. u’ll prolly finish ur shi- work in 5 mins.

      • amysteriousgal Says:

Bungaku Shoujo is well-written and illustrated, but I agree that the mystery isn’t done particularly well. It’s better to treat it as a romance/drama novel than to call it a mystery. (I bought the Galerie d’Art and Fantasy Art Book. Pretty pictures are pretty.)

Kara no Kyoukai is, well, interesting so far. The POV-switching reminds me of bad fanfiction, but it gets better. Tons of philosophising, so I consider it an exercise in my skills of understanding.
Also, I had no idea that there would be a ginormous (77*35 cm) poster when I bought vol. 1, and I still don’t know where to put it. ._.

Learn to read Simplified. Reason: Mainland Chinese stuff is everywhere. (A side effect of this is writing in two scripts at once – I tend to alternate between 时 and 時.) But really, someone needs to make something to convert any webpages between those two. (Google, I’m looking at you.)

OK, I shall accept that you aren’t a chantard. (I fish for images on /c/ when i have an hour or so to spare.)
4chan was created on a China national day. What?

I wish homework took such little time. What am I doing back here? I still have 2 Chinese essays and a Maths assignment to do!

      • domshiki Says:

yeah i was pretty disappointed cuz it was so popular and etc but the mystery was like “…wtf?” esp the first book. second bk got a lil btr (CUZ OF RYUUTO HE’S SO CUTE) but felt like a cheap copy of wuthering heights so lol. still, konoha pisses me off the whole time. *rages dat u has the art bks* ><

heh philosophy shit awesome man. but i wudnt get it in chinese cuz my chinese is balls bad (i'm amazed i can get bungaku shoujo as it is) T.T ah the woes of not being some way off the charts genius like u.

YEAH BUT SIMPLIFIED IS SO FUCKING UGLY (no off) LIKE FUCK WOT IS THAT?! like the scrapped up version of traditional, which is hellass hard to write but at least LOOKS like a real non shittified language. like yo man.

        lol ur the chantard yo.

wow fom 8 to 2, as expected from u lar. i have 4 tests the next wk, all on the same muthafuckin day =.="

  2. Kari Says:

I found your blog because I was searching for info about Tokimeki :)
I have to say one thing – I just spent last 4 hours reading every Domshiki review. I laughed my ass off :D Please, don’t try too swear less, okay?
You two are great, keep up the good work!

  3. amysteriousgal Says:

    Something else about you: http://urlai.com/url/sandeian.wordpress.com
How accurate is this thing, really?

    • domshiki Says:

AHAHAHAHAHAHHAH OMFG THIS THING IS BLOODY ACCURATE XD dont kno abt the happy part but lolololol the age part is most def rite at least.

    • Yup definitely accurate.
though i think the only reason we’re thought as happy is because of the style domshiki writes in.
still, whats an upset blog going to be about? invitations to mass suicide?

  4. Haruhi Says:

Spending my break to read all of the reviews.
I wonder if I have a life anymore *looks off to the distance*

  5. Greetings, Domshiki & Sandeian! <- idk but I just sounded like an alien.
I've always loved your blog ever since a friend told me about it and your reviews are awesome as always. You guys are so adorable. (≧∇≦)

  7. Lynsum Says:

Domshiki, are you a boy or a girl? o-o Sandeian refers to you as ‘her’, and you refer to yourself as a ‘fanboy’. OMG I’d admire you so much for reviewing otome + BL games if you were a guy! XD

    • domshiki Says:

all this interest in me is rather flattering ;)

      • Lynsum Says:

You’re really interesting though! My friend and I read your posts and spent an hour or two laughing until we couldn’t breathe lol.

  8. Sphiel Says:

I’ve just been wondering… Where is the current headline image from?

  9. mukada Says:

Hi! I was lurking around your blog with that wild idea for some months and now I have a little courage to write it to You. (a moment of dramatic silence) Now I just have to force my fingers to tap these words on my keyboard…

I want to translate posts on your blog (about otome games) into my language and post it on new blog (on our most popular local blogging platform) so people in my country could have a chance to get to know otome world! So I beg you on my knees for permit to translate!
    >(*o* )<

    Pfff, I did it. (-o- )

In Poland there are many, many kids (11-30 yrs :P) who love manga&anime and Japan with chopsticks, yukatas, samurai' swords, bento and all that stuff. xD Just kiddin', there are people who really enjoy japanese culture with its history, but our market is just not prepared for japanese games like those. Just few know what VN is and it's because of our critics who don't want to open for new experiences, and stay with things that THEY liked.

I'm a girl who'd love to play otome games, but like I said earlier it's hard to get them even from "close" abroad (and I don't know japanese…) so I decided to introduce this type of games to my country with your POV's help and permission, of course.

It's hard to me, writing in English since our language is really difficult to translate into English – but it's so much easier in the opposite direction! (like always…) So me and my friends who'd love to help, we can spend our time and share with the polish internet these reviews in our language.

I write not only to You but also to Ilinox from yumemirusekai.wordpress.com, Hinano from http://breadmasterlee.com and Rin from
http://koiiro.wordpress.com. Hope everyone can understand what I've written. :D

With the permission of all it might look something like this: One post – one character's route – and different views of different authors – signed of course.

I'm waiting and my heart beat so loud. ;)

PS Yeah, copy-paste, almost creepypasta. ;D

    • Sure, it’s fine.

I asked the other writer on the blog, domshiki, and she seems fine with it as well.
Can you give us your link as soon as your blogs set up XD Man, i’m interested to see how you’re going to translate domshiki’s writing

… We better do something as well T.T

      • mukada Says:

        (*ω* )
        Yes, yes, yes!!!
        [tries to keep cool]
Oh my God, it’s fantastic, really, because now thanks to You, guys, we can start! Of course you’ll receive an address when it’s ready (suggestions about that address are appreciated…I don’t have any idea except for one polish proverb :P). I’m mighty happy, now we have materials that we can share with others. Ok! So like I said earilier it will look like this: one post – character’s route – different views of different authors – credits, links and banners of course. Thank You so much!

      • mukada Says:

OK! So I got to work!
        I have “outline” here: http://translatorod7bolesci.blogspot.com/
Well, it’s Blogger. (._. ) I know, but someone kicked my a** to do that because of “linguistic limitations of colleagues”. Well, I’m not so happy with that. I had blog on WP and it was almost done – what took me a few hours. And that looks so primitive, but I guess I can’t win this time. (.____. )
I hope this eyesore will change. (ToT )
Do You have your own banner? If You want I’ll make yours, just tell me how do You want it to look like.

      • Can you wait a bit about the banner?
Going to ask domshiki first and yea, I’m kinda interested in making one.

      • Made one on the right side of the main page. :)

      • mukada Says:

Right! There’s first translation already – I decided to Hakuouki, because I was “voted down”. xD It’s your POV, guys, and it goes according to the order of posts on the blog. Greetings!

  10. I think this site is awesome! I just got into otome games and I’ve been frantically looking for games that I can play.
Especially in english. Or if I can’t find any in english I was hoping to find something that could translate them.
Can anybody help me out with this? I’d really appreciate it!

  11. cupcake Says:

aaah so your blog is like the third i stmbled upon and you both are just awesome :D
i’m still not that into otome games (cause lets face it.. my japanese is not good enough. yet.)
but i love all your posts. PLEASE keep up the good work :)

and domshiki… i really wanna know. are you a girl or a guy??? :D

    • domshiki Says:

Why thank you very much <3
Oh, the good old days when I didn't know any japanese and would just play the otome games on skip and hunt for the cgs. dwbi, with a little perseverance you will know enough of the language to play the games :D From my experience, Japanese is the easiest language I've learned so far but that's probably because I know chinese so the kanji part is a breeze

and as usual, I answer your question in the fashion I normally do when it's asked: what would you like me to be? ;)

  12. Again you both are awesome! Imma start stalking this blog! Great job on the reviews and keep it up!

    • domshiki Says:

holy shit u guys made this? looks brill :D
I’d love to play it but I don’t have the luxury of owning any Apple products (I’m an android person) so I’m gna have to hope sandeian plays this instead and hope she finally writes a review.

Thanks so much, keep making great games!

  14. I don’t play otome games but your blog posts are absolutely hilarious. XD They’ve made me laugh so much I might actually consider trying some games just to see for myself what they’re like first hand. Can’t wait to see what you’ll review next! ^^

    • domshiki Says:

Why thank you very much ;)
I rmb being utterly confused initially when a lot of the comments were “WAH YU SO FAAHHHNNY” until I went back and actually proofread my posts as a whole and realised how completely high I sound rofl. You should defs play some of em! I recommend saikin koishiteru if you want something without the typical super draggy plots of Otomate and want sth that’ll make you shit your pants laughing

  15. Haruna Arakaki Says:

  16. I don’t play much otome games but your posts are really fun to read :D If interested, you guys interested in joining my visual novel interview? http://otakuinterview.tumblr.com/post/54912040631/visual-novel-interview-on-distinguishing-visual-novels

  17. I stumbled in your blog when I got addicted to Talk/Drama CDs and was looking for a review of Diabolic Lovers.

Although I was kind of shock at first because of the language on Domshiki-san’s reviews, it also made me laugh so hard. You really never fail to make me laugh.

    More power to you both!

  18. You two are my new favorite people in the world. I hope you’re not on permanent hiatus or anything cause i luv u <3

  19. Hello,

I’ve been a long-standing reader of your blog for a while, so I’d love to exchange blog links! If you’re interested, please reply. :) Sorry if I posted this request in the wrong section!

  20. Dear

    I am Matt,director of Accela,Inc.
    We are Japanese Otomegame maker.
We publish new Otomegame in french.

The title is “The Forbidden Love”

The story is like a melodrama, similar to love rommance.
    It is very fun.
I hope that you are happy with it!

    Best Regards,

    • domshiki Says:

Hey Matt, seems like you guys make some pretty fab games judging from the reviews! If I have time, I’ll see if I can get around to trying out some of your games (shame I can’t read French) :D

  21. amee Says:

I just recently read the review for one of the games Domshiki reviewed & honestly it was Ha-larious!!!! Thanks so much for this site :DDDD

  22. Emma Says:

    Hi, guys!
I was looking for your review of the “Gin no Kanmuri Ao no Namida”. I remember I once read it here, but can’t find it anymore. I can’t play these games because I don’t know the language, but at least reading your reviews was always funny and cheered me up :D What happened to that review? Can I read it somewhere? Or you deleted it for good?

  23. do you ave any idea on which guides to use? Im playing BWS last hope and have no damn idea whats going on o.oll

If not thanks, and I need thou luck for plowing through it xD

  24. hohohoho Says:

any new updates? D: its been months

    • domshiki Says:

I know, sorry guys but I’ve got so much on my plate rn and I’m looking at all the new games that have come out and I’m like HOE-LEEEEEEEEE SHIT das a lot of ground to cover. Doing my best to finish some posts I’ve half written though if that’s any consolation HAHAHA :’D

  25. Mika Says:

I dunno if you guys will even see this, but I really miss your reviews and recommend you to all my friends for fujoshi needs — I mean insightful visual novel reviews. Your sense of humor is very much in line with ours and while some of them are not visual novel fans, they still enjoy your reviews.

I’ve been recommending you more lately for your Dramatical Murder review because I found out a lot of my fujoshi babies — I mean corrupted innocents, have only been subsisting on the anime and hearsay. So obviously, in order to better inform them of the storyline, I guided them here.

Is it possible to fix the link for the Togainu no Chi review? I think my hints of gimps, hot boy-on-boy action, and battle games have piqued their interest. And the anime sucked so a lot of them won’t play the game…but they’ll read a review if it’s from you guys!

P.S. No pressure on returning to updating. Life is kicking me while I’m down right now too.

    • domshiki Says:

Hey babe, months late but i’m back for the time being and am honoured that this blog has been feeding your fujoshi needs <3

LOL I bet your friends loved reading about the wonderful sexbot lion + snake + rapist twins x Aoba part ;) The link for TnC actually isn't broken – I took it down because it was so absolutely incoherent, too terrible even by my horseshit review standards. It was the first BL game I played, back when my Japanese was exceptionally shitty and I've been meaning to replay it….one day and rewrite the post….one day. Until then, I suggest directing your friends to other, better written reviews out there, sorry about that.

In any case, you hang in there too my friend, GET BACK UP AND PUNCH LIFE RIGHT BACK IN THE NUTS

  26. blingblingbrudda Says:

Bling bling brudda amg I died xDDDD you are now my internet crush. Ty for taking over my break with thoughts of domshiki style writing. If this were an otome game, I’d choose you right away and wouldn’t look back. ;^) (pr0n gaem ofc)

  27. I miss you guys. I miss your comments. Where can I stalk you again? D:
